What should you feed your Australian Labradoodle puppy?
I recommend Purina Pro Plan Puppy Food and All stages 30/20! Our puppies are raised on ProPlan Puppy Food Chicken and Rice and/or Lamb and Rice.
Purnina ProPlan can be purchased at Petsmart, Amazon, Rural King, just to name a few options.
It is important not to suddenly change your puppy’s diet – to do so can invite digestive problems such as diarrhea, constipation or tummy ache. So, to help you continue where we have left off, here is what your puppy is used to eating:
Variety is the key, and we have started them on protein cycling. Which simple put is alternating different forms of protein in their kibble. (chicken, lamb, turkey, whitefish) We use Purina Pro Plan puppy food I can give you other recommendations upon request.
- Commercial puppy biscuits or tins (very occasionally given as a “backup feed”)
- For treats, use kibble or high value treats for training. (high value-chicken, turkey-hot dog)
Do not over-feed your puppy! Forcing rapid growth can lead to health problems later, particularly with joints. Keep him trim and let him feel hungry now and then.
Whatever he can eat in 15 minutes at each meal is the right amount. Take leftovers away until the next meal.
Proper Nutrition with Paw Tree
